In 2017 right before I left the US to move back home, I spent a month traveling around the country visiting all the major national parks. I had spent 6 years studying in San Francisco but I had never seen these parks that I’d heard so much about. I drove non-stop and slept mostly in my car to save money. What I saw changed the way I view democracy and the US as a country.
